Wish I could add recipes from the internet.

I was unable to get the share feature to list Chef as an option, I tried restarting the computer and used the supported websites but still no luck. Looks like it has potential, but as I can't use the feature I was most looking forward to, I won't be using it

It wouldn't let me on because I wasn't 18 or older but i'm almost there!!!

The best recipe collection app I have found, as I can add recipes from anywhere on the web! So useful. Plus a shopping list tool that allows you to consolidate, and a menu planner. All-in-one! However, you can't organize recipes into custom folders. The default is alphabetical. I prefer by course.

Followed the instructions to use the share charm to import recipes but this app can not share. It doesn't do anything it is supposed to do. Great idea...if it worked!!!!

This is a great App for Saving Recipes from other sites or Apps. Also for creating your own recipes. Great App!!

This app used to be fantastic. They promised updates, they promised a windows phone version, none materialized. Now even basic functionality like sharing a recipe list with onenote is broken. Devs have abandoned this project. Too bad.

Wish there was a Win8 phone app so I can easily see ingredients when I'm at the store buying them.

This app wouldn't let me import from epicurious website.

Does not let me share recipes after the second time I opened the app. Also it will not open anymore. I was excited, but now im uninstalling seeing it does not work. Trying PEPPERPLATE.

This app has great potential, but several bugs. I get "something went wrong" error almost half the time I try to add recipes. Editing recipes is awkward; I would suggest that the recipe title pop up in an edit box when adding, so a recipe like "the best meatball" can be edited to Meatball, allowing it to be sorted in "M" instead of "T." I also contacted support regarding the "something went wrong" error and no one contacted me.

Intuitive and easy to use. I love the sharing option...worked perfectly w/ AllRecipes. However, the consumer needs to option to at least delete recipes, if not edit them. Other than that, I really enjoyed it.

The best free recipe management app I've used. Purchased some of the other cooking apps, disappointed at their complexity. Chef provides a simple, clean way to help me keep my recipes organised.

I will change this review if this changes. Adding your own recipes is an exercise in luck. 30% of the time, "something goes wrong," and if you try to check another area, or do so accidentally, all the text you've entered vanishes. Also, when you add ingredients, such as "3 hard-boiled eggs, chopped", it gets changed to "3 units eggs", which makes sense for the purposes of shopping, but really damages the recipe. IF YOU ARE READING THIS, DESIGNERS, PLEASE FIX THIS IN THE RECIPE SECTION.

This app does not allow any flexibility when entering a recipe. Uninstalled.

This is crazy. My kids can't find recipes to cook with because their accounts are marked as kids accounts. Useless!

An excellent design for a cooking app. Let's you add your own recipes but I'm not quite sure how it works. A brief tutorial would be nice but out of most of the cooking apps on the store this is one of the best.

Chef lets me collect recipes from any site and view them in one place. It's also useful if you like to plan out meals in advance.

I'm a fan of Chef on Facebook /getchef. According to their latest Facebook post, more features like editing, printing, and the manual addition of recipes are coming in the next version. This app is in its infancy and I'm already in love. Looking forward to future versions!

asks for image file location if you want to import photos for your own recipe, but it doesn't work properly. sharing recipes from URL to app using share charm is not great; it doesn't find recipes from websites at all sometimes, and other times it tells me there are errors adding in recipes.

Awesome.. I'm using it with the AllRecipes app - you can select any recipe and share with Chef, which puts it right into my library there. I think even my mother could handle that..

This an amazing app that really illustrates what a good Windows 8 app can do. The app does, however, have several really annoying limitations. First, it does not support printing. Second, recipes, once entered, cannot be edited. Third, one cannot select and copy text in recipes. I discovered a workaround - launching the Share Charm allows a recipe to be exported to Evernote, from which one can print, and one can copy recipe text.

Unlike some of the other cooking applications that are overloaded with complex yet useless features, Chef provides me and my wife exactly what we need. Ability to collect recipes from our favorite websites is amazing. We're building our curated recipe library and so should you.

This app is off to a great start and has an intuitive vivid UI to make shopping/planning for meals a cinch. Looking forward to future releases and new exciting functionality to come!

This app allows you to customize your own recipe library, create your own recipes and import from the web in a simple and intuitive way. Not every recipe on the web works, but most important site do (including some not in English). You can even import from the Epicurious app. There is a couple of UI shortcuts that would be great (such as the ability to add a recipe for the day without leaving the main screen). Most importantly is the ability to edit recipes so you can fix errors.

Sharing doesn't work all the time yet, 2 out of the 3 recipes from AllRecipes app failed to share. Also hope to see more cabinet tracking features integrated with ingredients to manage shopping lists better. This is definitely an app Windows 8 could use more of, I definitely will keep this installed while very much looking forward to your future updates.

I think app has potential, but it has some kinks to work out. I found it confusing that I had to click import and scroll to the end to manually add a recipe. It would also be nice to have a way of editing recipes once they're in your library.

Been looking for an amazing cooking app for Windows 8. Chef is absolutely amazing. Allows me to collect my favorite recipes from popular sites via the share charm. Looking forward to future releases, more features. Can't believe it's free!

This is beautifully executed. Very impressive functionality and a great organization tool. I've been wanting something like this for a while. It really is kind of shocking to finally see something this polished. Whoever developed this should find some way to make a pro version. I feel bad not paying for this.

Love the ability to send any recipe to Chef via the Share Charm. The automatic parsing of ingredients is magical. Meal planning and shopping list generation are also very straightforward, unlike other cooking apps. Can't wait for future versions.
