I've looked for a good free mkv app for a long time. Most of them have been free trials, or they just wouldn't work. This is the first legitiment mkv app I have found. For free this is great. It may be a little slow starting movies, but I think that has something to do with storing the file first. I'm not very computer savvy, but I do love this app. I would give it 5 stars if it wasn't so slow, but honestly it works perfectly other then that! I would pay a couple dollars for this app if it weren't free.

Since I installed this, my computer has been crashing, freezing, running slow...in short, acting like it installed a virus. This is the ONLY thing I have installed or run new in MONTHS and the ONLY thing I connected to internet for in DAYS. Computer was fine before install-->now crashing...HMM... It is a bit awkward to use at first, and WONT PLAY THE SOUND WITH MOST MOVIES!!! Sometimes it works, sometimes not! It also doesn't recognize some of the closed captioning files. These same files play fine with other players. NOW I can't split the screen, minimize or even pause/play without errors! It is making the video choppy, going black...Just when I didn't think it could get worse! YOU KEEP LOSING STARS PEOPLE!!!

Plays back very fine but it's a pain to load the video file (file structure is hard to read with only the first 8 letters readable or so). They need to integrate this player in a file browser, or have some better way of finding videofiles in a pile! Update: Player doesn't play back dual subtitles very fine. If there's more than one line to be translated, it only shows the first line (meaning, if there's a sign showing, that is translated, while at the same time the words are being translated, you can only read the translation of the sign, and the translated words are not displayed).

has a sound issue you gotta fight with when its hooked up to the HDMI port..

I like the app! Some of the other media apps freeze up when playing movies. This one here handles most of the newer video formats.

Next thing they have to work on/update on the app is codec for subtitles. a black bar with text on it is not enough for anime videos with fancy subtitles. keep up the good work!

Works well, very stable, audio is clear too. One issue - subtitles are displayed against s black background and only 3-4 words can be displayed, so some times a sentence with say 4+ words is only half seen in the subtitles.

Played hobbit movie I could not play until I downloaded this app.

It takes forever to open but play nearly any file type.
