Iron Password

IronPassword is a password generation tool for programmers and system administrators to create high quality random passwords for machine use, even in bulk, securely and at any length. These passwords are specifically meant to be hard to predict or memorize. IronPassword uses the Stanford JsCL's augmented Fergusen Schneier "Fortuna" PRNG to mitigate side-channel attacks.

Features:

  • Strong passwords
  • Side-channel safety
  • Bulk generation
  • Visible or invisible generation
  • Difficult for humans (includes attackers)

Does exactly what I need it to do, bulk password generation with a slick UI.

I think the passwords are to complicated I tried it on my other computer and forgot the password because of this

the application can generate you very strong passwords, but who is going to remember them ?? no one will save them in file as it will be unsecure. and people will keep on creating there own password. so this application will be just wasting your hard's memory very much improvement needed

Since we can't remember them, where on earth to save them for future? Saving anywhere can be risky and time taking to get back, why not add a password protected vault to save them? Better still, let the users find a word or phrase which Iron Password can convert in a password, the same word or phrase should always give out the same password. In this way the user will have something to remember.

And it works wonderfully. At work, I have a very real need for random-generated passwords for various app users, and this fits the bill nicely. Very good job!

Does what it says; makes and keeps secure passwords. I'd like to see some cloud integration so I can keep my password lists between computers, but that's nitpicking. Nicely done.

Makes great passwords as advertised.

Never again will I be stuck with stale or insecure passwords. This does the job of generating secure passwords for me. I agree with the commenter that mentioned the lack of making waffles. What's up with that?

Simple utility for easily generating secure random passwords. Would be nice if it had some options to generate 'memorable' passwords.

Now I can use these in my automatic accounts, where passwords don't have to get remembered, and the stronger password is the better password.
