Looks and works wonderfully with a touch screen tablet like the Dell Venue Pro 8. Though it needs lol script incorporation to be truly complete.

because it's the only Windows 8 chatty client. It's very bare compared to Shack Browse, but crashes just as much and is slower than loading the website in a browser. You can't get a URL to a post if you'd like to share it with someone else (it doesn't seem to utilize the share charm, either). Does not support ThomW's tag system No ShackMessage support at all No image uploading No expiration timers No viewing of news in-app (full story view kicks you to the default browser) No shacktag helper Searching is pretty bad. You can't search for a text written by an author or parent author. The search term is used exclusively for reply text, or author, or parent. I would just rather use the hot mess that is Lamp on my Surface Pro.

This is definitely the best way to browse Shacknews.com if you're into the whole Modern UI thing for Windows 8. The information is presented cleanly and in a way that's easy to read/keep track of, and the ability to pin posts and synch them is a plus over using the website itself. The only flaw so far is that the app seems very prone to crashing - I've experienced several while just browsing the Chatty and at least one while doing searches.
