This company has had this app for almost as long as Windows 8 has been available. Since being bought by Amazon it is NO better! And they continuously put out PATHETIC updates that cripple the functionality. I own hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of comics and I can't even access my OWN property. Every single time I try and download my comics they fail. The company tells me to reinstall the app. I've done this 5 times now. And I STILL can't access my own PAID content. Welcome to the cloud people. This is a travesty and should be illegal. This company is the epitome of lazy and untalented. How hard is it to make a stable viable app after an ENTIRE year? Never buy from this company if you are a windows user. Boycott them at all costs.

Even after their latest update, this is still buggy. Its still install, uninstall, reinstall, etc. I cannot read more than 3 comics before I have to do this every week. I guess Amazon wants me to buy their tablet so I can read comics. I would like to thank the developers for taking the joy out of reading comics. .

This app has one core function: to allow the purchase and download of comics. It's just fine for the former, but the latter function has gone from unreliable to completely broken. For over three months, users have complained of stalled downloads that can't be recovered. Since then, the app has been updated, but only for the worse. Now downloads won't begin at all. The only solutions offered by the dev? Workarounds that involve either reinstalling the app every time you want to download new titles (which causes all previous downloads to be deleted), or digging around in the file system. This would be fine as a strictly temporary measure, but after three months, this is unacceptable. This is not a solution offered by a reputable developer. I have given them until the end of Nov. 2013 to fix this or I will be cancelling my pulls and disputing charges with my credit card issuer.

I seem to be having problems downloading comics on this app. the app connects to the internet and starts to down load the comic but never seems to finish.

crashes constantly. gets stuck sometimes when downloading a comic. uninstall and reinstall is the only fix, pretty annoying.

I'm downgrading 3 to 2 because I just saw the app on Android: 1,000 times better!! Great that downloads no longer get stuck!!! BUT, I was hoping the update was going to be able to organize the my comics section. Customer service is great and helped me in the past. If they did all 3 of the following, I'd give this app 5 stars. 1 Categorize/Sort My Comics section 2 An option to turn on automatic downloads in the App of subscribed comics 3 Being able to pin My Comics to start screen, live info with new covers, new release date to subscribed comics I'd even pay for an app w/all this, although I buy my comics through them, so they get lots of money from me anyway.

Well it would appear that the makers behind this app no longer care. Its been at least a couple of months now and it still immediately crashes after opening. Just uninstalled the app and unless the app makers want to email me and apologize, they won't be seeing my business anymore.

First, and most importantly, Comixology is awesome. It brings so many comics to the digital format so you can read classic issues cheaply! This is a clunky, unreliable version of what is a wonderful product on Apple and Droid products. The show stopper for me is the 'freezing downloads.' I'm about to go on a trip and cannot download anymore comics without un-installing this app, re-installing, and re-downloading at the risk of this just happening again. Please add a cancel download function.

What are the chances that Comixology even remembers they have this app? This is embarrassing.

I normally don't like to put a review up over a single issue, but this one is got me bugged. When I try to download the Comics, one will lock up. There isn't a way to reset or stop the download of that comic. Pause doesn't stop Any comics I try afterwards won't download. I Uninstall and try again and that comic will download, but soon afterward another comic will freeze and I need to uninstall again to unfreeze the stuck comic. Of course uninstalling means redownloading all the comics.

So I got a pleasant surprise when I opened this app today. All the queued comics with broken downloads that had been sitting "downloading" for months started actually downloading. I've read some reviews that say their comics are still stuck or they had to reinstall, but mine just started downloading again right away. They also added a cancel button to the Downloads page which is nice. Downloaded comics still can't be sorted by series, publisher, or anything other than download order (or maybe published/released order idk, it seems to rearrange itself after they are downloaded and the app is restarted), but hopefully this update means they are starting to pay more attention to this app. Store and reader are great, but the app is still way behind the Android app in terms of interface.

Downloading frozen for the last week. Comics don't pull up. Will not uninstall. Frustrating app.

App crashes on opening now. How do I access all the content I paid for?

Apps in win 8 use metro style navigation. To login you need to swipe up from the bottom and then you will see your my comics option. The only problem I have with this app is it lags and crashes every so often. Had to remove a star because the bugs especially with downloads not completing, causing me to have to uninstall and than reinstall and redownload all the comics I want, as well as not having folder views for cloud and my comics to help fid what I want to read when offline.

Please include a sorting feature in the my comics I would like to see the ability to sort my comics by the respective titles instead of just random comics spewed around

Downgrading for now. Unfortunately downloads get stuck and I have to uninstall/reinstall. Seems to happen when I switch or go to sleep while the comics are in progress of downloading. Very nice update. Much improved. Store integration is awesome. Rotate works for me on surface. I just had to make sure rotate was unlocked. The only thing that's lacking is better organization and management of my collection. I'd like to be able to sort/zoom out to title, and sort by purchase date and by unread.

I have HUNDREDS of comics I've bought through Comixology and I can only see 10 of them. Since the major update, I can't even find where to view and download the comics I've already purchased. I really hope this app improves and pushes another update soon.

This app shouldn't even be here; bugs, crashes, incomplete downloads, impossible to manage comics library, no in-app purchase option, etc. This needs to be updated ASAP or taken off MS store. UPDATE: after update this app is everything I wanted it to be - no crashes, complete comic downloads, "fixed" comic library, etc.

Just got the newest update and the app doesn't open at all. No excuse to have a half thought out app when this app works fine on other platforms. My comics section is unorganized with only one option for sorting (Most recent purchases). My purchases do not show up immediately for download. In fact, I've purchased something and its been about 3 hours now... still doesn't show up in the cloud for download.

If I could update my review with a lower rating than one star, I would. But not because it's a bad app. It isn't! It's fabulous! But there are sooooo many glitches. Too many. And they're big ones, too. Get it together, guys! This could be amazing! I spend a lot of money on this app. When it works it's great. But it only works 25% of the time. Comics I bought disappear, don't load, don't download. COME ON, PEOPLE! FIX YOUR APP!!!!! But I still haven't given up on you, because you have the potential to be a great thing. But NOW I can't even buy books! I keep getting a message that says my cart has errors. Please, people, fix this stuff!

UPDATE: This app is still complete garbage. I still cannot access any of my comics. I can't believe Microsoft allows this kind of junk and the app developers should be ashamed of themselves for releasing this. Complete garbage. This app was OK when it first came out ages ago. I do not see any improvements via their so-called updates. But more importantly, I cannot even access my comics offline. I repeat, I CANNOT access my comics offline. One more time, I CANNOT access my comics. But wait, that is assuming I can even download them. As of late, I cannot even download purchased comics to my Surface. And now I hear that Comics was purchased by Amazon? This can only be bad news considering how poor of a job Amazon has done with their Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 apps. Unbelievable.

Would be nice to have sort options to view "My Comics" in the cloud by collection instead of just date purchased. The app needs work to fully support portrait mode. No sort options for On Device view. The app loses downloaded comics and won't allow redownload without removing and reinstalling app or you can go to C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Packages\comiXology.Comics_1peyd81c65ys8\LocalState\<account name> and delete the folder that doesn't have a comic book image in it, the corresponding comx file and the downloadqueue.list. Also, if you're having problems logging in most likely it is because you have a special character in your password, so try changing your password to something less special.

Has a bug on download it will some times hang. I used to uninstall and reinstall to get it to work. I contacted support and found a fix if you are on 8.1... go to C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Packages\comiXology.Comics_1peyd81c65ys8\LocalState\<account name> once there look for the folder with out the cover photo in it, delete the folder and the corresponding comx file and the downloadque file. This will reset the download and let you try again. I know this is a hack and does not fix the bug but it does save you from uninstall/install loop. The collection and store could use a lot of the features from the android app. On Droid you can find comics by story arc and sort you r collection by title. Neither of these exist here and makes management and finding items much harder. I'm sure these issues will be fixed over time but in the meantime the app does work but needs some love :)

Whiplash. I had originally given this app 5 stars, then revised it to 2 because I ran into major problems with purchasing and syncing with cloud, but those problems seem to be fixed now so back to 5 stars. ------ Totally broken again.

Update: The last 5 times I have made purchases the app has made me re-enter all my billing info. That makes me question their security. Another star gone. My only complaint about the android app is the lack of a shopping cart. With the Windows 8 app, that's all I have. I can't manage my own library beyond download/delete. Yes, I can use the windows search to isolate a single title, but what happened to the 'Read next issue?' button? Sloppy

I love and use the service all the time on my android phone, but it's been unusable on my PC as of late. I hope it gets some attention so I can give it a 5 star review again.

I have used Comixology for some time now and have experience with both iOS version as well as my favorite the Android version. I recently bought a Surface 3 for work and immediately downloaded Comixology as it is one of my little pleasures. I was immediately stunned by how far behind this "app" is compared to its brethren. No grouping capability, fragmented UI, horrible download notification, inconsistent quality in download and finally the app just stopped downloading altogether. If I were Amazon, the new owner of Comixology, I'd be mortified and would fire everyone involved with this "Windows" version of their app family. If Windows 8 were the only way I had to read my comics purchases, I would demand a refund as it simply isn't worth the hassle to get it working or struggle with it if you have a large library. This abysmal app should frankly be pulled by MS until it actually works as advertised. If you could give negative stars or flag with a steaming pile of poo - I'd do it.
