Comments for Comix

I wish this worked better because I really like the layout, but after my fifth time of having to uninstall and reinstall I'm done with it. I have to reload my whole collection each time, as well as realigning all my folders. And it happens every time that I don't open it up for a week or two. Too bad it can't remember my collection and stay functioning.

But why can't it install on my PC. Is the problem from my WiFi or wat is even happening pls I need instruction from other reviews.

having the ability to go from one comic to the next would be great though

Works great. The best reader I have found so far. The inclusion on public domain comics is neat.

I have a 1080p display on both my Win 8.1 laptop and my Android tablet. My Android tablet, in portrait mode, is taller than my (horizontal) laptop screen is, so I would expect comics to look crisper on my laptop screen, but they look somewhat blurrier. Other than that I guess it's fine. The main menu UI looks like it was drawn by a kindergartener. Also, how do I exit a comic? I've been stuck on Saga #2 for a whole day! I want to go back to the main menu, but I can only go back to the library.

Amazing app. Its light, stylish and doesn't crash at all. Does exactly what I wanted to to, and without all the stupid ads you find in other apps in the windows store. I recommend it, 5 full stars.

Excellent comic reader. Well worth buying. As good as anything found in the iPad store.

I wish it would remember my page when I go back to a comic after opening and reading a different comic. It always seems to start me at the beginning again. If it is going to do that then there should be a bookmark option. But I would prefer it just remember my place for multiple files.

I've tried most of the comic readers and ComiX is my favorite. the one place where I fault it is that it flashes between page turns; I'd prefer a smoother transition or better yet an actual page turn effect like some of the epub readers (but no other comic readers) have.

I've been looking for an app for weeks that won't crash, display my comics and library correctly without issues. This app has done that. No crashes for me so far and I've been using it for days. It supports screen rotation, displays my library in a pleasing way and it has bookmarks. I've looked everywhere and every app crashes and burns within seconds of trying to read a book.

Wanted an app that can compete with PV (PerfectViewer) that I currently use on my android devices. Comix is pretty good as a comic book reader, but can't nearly do half the things that PV can. Wish list for Comix: customizable touch menu, bookmark, customizable background, different types of filters (mimic different types of paper), auto crop, auto sharpen, and .pdf capable.

Seems to work fine. But it keeps the CPU at 100% usage for no reason. Makes the SP3 very hot and goes through battery like no tomorrow. Switched to another comic reader.

Fast, good display, no distracting graphics. All you see is the actual novel. Love it!

Not bad at all. Hnadles wide format pages well. My one complaint is that it defaults to forcing a page to fit the screen, instead of allowing scrolling,

Needs the ability to have a custom zoom setting, not just Maximize (fit width) and Fit Screen. Other than that pretty good but not as good as Evince on Linux.

Fast, clean, easy. Tap left/right to change page, auto-zoom for horizontal pages, customizable background color would be nice. But works great as it is.

It does the job, but its clunky and not nearly as polished as other comic reader apps.

This one is almost perfect comic reader while compared to the others , but still need several improvements in UI , and bug fixes (Expecting an update) Thanks :)

I wished it had some features like the ability to bookmark your comics and save bookmarks so I can jump from one comic to another. And more viewing options when viewing the library

avatar

23 April 2014

It only has Fit and Actual Size. I'd like to see Fit To Height and maybe some margin detection. That way, I can see make the best use of my screen.

really really good

Adding a folder doesn't add subfolders. Every single folder has to be added manually, so if your collection is organized on your disk, it will take hours to add everything. No way to turn a page with one click. Your only options are to drag the page or right click to bring up the interface, then click the next page button, or use the keyboard. Also destroys my framerate in games while it's running.

usage is really amazing however it crashes a lot unexpectedly

I have tried the handful of apps they have in the store and I have to say that this is the best. I have a large digital library of comics and honestly for a free app, it handles everything beautifully. If you bought a surface and want to read comics on it, this is the app you are looking for. My only suggestion would be that the interface is not really appealing.
